Burning bright as the sun shines comforts this tree with its comforting warmth of life. I guess I can be called a tree-hugger but I’m not as diehard tree huggish as some out there but, I do appreciate scenes like this that brings an idea of perfection all of the world.
That perhaps in this moment no wrong is being done to one another and no bad thing is being thought about or embraced.
Ahhhh Peace
My Girlfriend Cait took a daring challenge four months ago to attempt a Marathon. Well that day has come and gone and she was Victorious. Finished in 3 hours and 47 minutes. I think I can finish a carton of ice cream in 3 hours, but running 26.2 miles. No Way.
Here is a Video of some of the runners including her in there somewhere. And I also took photos of the event which you can see at my Flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rainingdreams/sets/72157629856655996/
or variously on my Website here: http://rainingdreams.com/
Also you can see the page speaking of prints if you ran the marathon and wanna print, just let me know and we can work something out… oh the link… http://rainingdreams.com/capital_city_marathon_olympia_wa
This was my first Video, yea, ah, Ever. So be kind in your comments :)

I have been practicing more with my compositions lately, especially when it comes to portraits and landscape photography. One classic composition style is to have leading lines within your photo and if you can have those lines lead to something magnificent then your creating a quality photo.
Well it is common but this evening in Seattle I had to take much of the most glorious opportunity to take some night photos, because A: there were finally very interesting clouds in seattle (very rare- usually its just a straight blanket of clouds) and B: there was a pretty intense sunset happening. Now typically in Seattle you can find interesting things all around you but they are usually walking around (if you know what I mean). Seattle is just like any old city with sky scrapers and automobiles every where. So when I ran across this architectural gem I had to figure out how to make a decent shot of it. So, none other, did I practice the compositional rule of leading lines.
I hope you enjoyed it.

I love this time of year, its funny how its among the most stressful time of year, but with the perfect balance of sugar from all the cookies and bing crosby singing some odd melodies that we for some reason think make the most sense are uplifting. After listening to Frosty the Snowman, I’m like, I’m 28 and I like this… is there something wrong with me? Then I step outside and I hear other older than me humming even a stranger song like that Hippopotamus song, we listen to this stuff and we think thats ok/normal is that not weird to anyone else? Don’t even get me started on putting a live, huge tree in your house this post may get to be pages long. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas time and all it has to bring. It is the best time of the year, just funny how the traditions are and how they came about. Its just funny how it seems that the public masked its stress with sugar and upbeat n’ uplifting tones…
This photo was taken at Gas Works which is oddly enough a park in Seattle. Best view of Seattle in my opinion and the best place to bring a special lady ;-) especially at dusk. Just be sure not to forget the blanket…

Did you think that since its Now April, I was going to be ordinary and throw up a Nice Spring-like scene? Oh No way Jose… Yea, thats right I said it. I’m a sucker for the sunset, and oh, so is the rest of the world. So my interest and my visions are moving on it seems. I love Character Portraits and any photo with people. People are amazing, I think its God’s greatest achievements even though there is so much hate and destruction in the world. I think we are Brilliant Beings.. Anyway, I digress. I am going to start my venture into character portraits and studio style photography along with shooting for advertising if need be. I find works by Dave Hill to be truly Mesmerizing (davehill.com) as well as Dean Bradshaw (deanbradshaw.com.au) yea, hes even an Aussie so he automatically gets.. well .. two points in my book. And just general fashion stylized photography such as Jaime Ibarra’s work (his site is ibarraphoto.com) which always gets me green with envy. His style is so beautiful and can make the must natural looking thought provoking composites. Well anyway, this is my start and my shout out to say hey I’m exploring, and well, I’m an explorer, so Please Ride this Train with Me.

I took this photo along the way to WA. It was a perfect tuesday morning drive. You know those drives when the clouds are picturesque, the sky is blue, the wind is cool and the scenery, well the scenery was perfect! So I wanted to take a picture that resembled that. I hope you enjoy it. Why don’t you tell me of some of your favorite drives recently…
This first picture is probably my favorite of the textured sunsets. I wanted to make them more interesting from a bland shot I took outside of my window of my beautiful Jeep. Sometimes I’ll just take multiple pictures of my jeep since I love it so much. Any jeep wrangler lovers out there? This was in Wisconsin.
Second: This is probably my second favorite shot. Again textured obvious from the name of this post. Its definitely highly post-processed as you can tell but I wanted to accentuate the clouds and the light they were blocking and portraying. Honestly this shot is very similar to what it looked like towards the dusky part of the evening. Notice the textured edges to give it a little funk.
Third Favorite shot is an additional textured overlayed on the image from that latter end of yesterdays pic. Let me know which one you liked better. Other than the previous picture above these were all taken in Minnesota. Who woulda thought that state could be pretty?
And last but hopefully not the least you get to see the hood of my Jeeper reflect the summer sun that leads your eye to the windmill pretty cool eh? hm, hope so. Stay tuned for more photos on my journey to WA.
Let me know which one you guys liked the best! Thanks.
