A tree sprouting its roots as it begins to flourish from the ground! How inspirational it is to see something begin so small n delicate with years of hardwork and dedication grow to be something so tall and powerful!

“They say” that in composition it is a good idea to have your subject pointed out such as in leading lines or having elements in your environment point to your primary subject. Well that is precisely what I tried to do in this photo… By the way who are “They” anyway….
So take a look- the edge of the architectural building points to the needle, the trees at the top left point to the needle, the two shiny pillars point to the needle, even the trees in the background and the path of the sidewalk all point, and lead the eye to the needle… Accident? I think not.

I think one of the many things that is challenging for a photographer these days is “editing the pics” not necessarily post processing but editing in terms of picking out the “Best” images to display to the world.
From perusing flickr, google +, etc I see that some have mastered this and from perusing my own catalogue I see that I have much to learn and much to practice.
It is a practice and an art to display a picture that just works that only took 3 minutes to post process and then an image that you’ve been trying so hard to “just work” for hours maybe even days that you post that you should have never posted. When it works it works, and you shouldn’t have to think very hard about it—- thats what this pic was, it just worked. I felt like I needed to do so much to it - just because, thats what we do as photogs, but why? when it works it works, the end.
