What is really happening over that mountain?
Getting to Grandmothers house is going to be harder than originally planned.
Perhaps the Journey really is better than the Destination?
All I know is that Life is always worth living when memories are worth remembering and not quickly forgotten.
Remember that as you Go Out the Door Tonight…

There’s nothing more awkward than seeing a tunnel-like valley as this and then a person pops up staring at you while your staring at them with a huge camera.
Its like ahhh ok, just walk on through its ok, I’ll wait, seriously, I’ll wait, I don’t want to take your picture, the brick is cool, see-look, thats why I’m taking a picture, I’m honestly not trying to be intrusive.
Yes, these are the thoughts that go through my head when these awkward moments happen.

My First Conceptual Piece from a while back… have progressed since then, but at times its always nice to see where we started…

Here in Seattle Washington it is not often that we have clouds, Let me finish…
Clouds that are interesting and dramatic!
Yes, we have clouds, often, it is very frustrating since I believe I have that seasonal affected disorder and the sun brings me Joy.
Back to my point. Taking photos in Seattle outside is difficult, cause either you have absolutely No Clouds or so much cloud coverage there is nothing to take a pic of that incorporates a cool sky,and let’s be honest, we all love a cool dramatic sky.
So on this particular evening it was fun because Finally, a Cool Sky!
Some of the time people think that the cause of their problems are at the fault of others around them, their wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, kids, friends, family, let’s be honest the list could go on forever
But what if the fault of the issue, or problem or whatever is actually that of the view.
You can’t see the big picture, something is obstructing its view. Perhaps if you find that obstruction you find the root of the issue and Bam crisis solved!

I am back in NY for the moment. Soon to be traveling to San Fran, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Corpus Christi, and others around and abouts.
A moment of color changed form within side the house again and I just knew the sky was probably crazy and to my, much pleasure it was!It was gorgeous. The sky was so Red that in post processing I had to die down the saturation so the image wouldn’t be what we call “blown out”…
I was Happy : )

Sometimes I’ll be watching a movie, or editing pictures then all of a sudden the light changes on the carpet or floor or walls and I’m like, “AH, I bet there’s an Awesome Sunset Outside!!”
And I go running towards the window and sure enough, BAM, there it is in all its glory, showing off all its colors, textures, light, rays, and emotions. At times I can’t help but think, man do we have an awesome God to create such beautiful moments.

I love tonal range, the way an image or a scene can have such a wide tonal range and how our eyes are able to capture every last bit of it! Camera’s don’t even come close to being able to capture exactly what we see on a certain sunset, scene or moment and that is the struggle that we photographers have in trying to show exactly what we see that makes post-processing such a challenge. Thus its not the camera you hold that makes the difference its how you use it. : )

I took Many Photos the night of the Fourth of July in 2012 that afterwards I had an idea to put them all together on to one image in photoshop to show family members and others Every Firework I saw on the Fourth of July.
It turned out pretty cool I think, and I hope you guys think so too-

I often overlook the special aroma that you feel at a B&B and tend to just jump straight to the idea of a hotel/motel typical places of stay on travels and other various vacations.
I’m going to start broadening my horizons looking for more cozier options, more ma and pop type of places.
Sure it may be more costlier but you have a sense that A: your doing some good with your money for the family, B: the Atmosphere at these types of places you can’t find in a hotel and C: the Service is usually spectacular, because, well, they actually care about your stay as opposed to a 15 yr old bell hop whom throws your luggage around like a football.
All to conclude, B&B’s are cool and so are the more rustic options out there as opposed to your typical “Ramada Inn”.
My girlfriend and I spent a weekend there, just touring around seing the sights. It was of course mostly rainy while we were there, but that didnt dampen our fun.. eh eh get it… dampen! so hilarious I know. I think the next time we go will be in July so perhaps we’ll have better luck then in getting at least a cool sky pic!

I wonder if there are architects out there that seeing a building like this, yes a building like this-
This Crushed Can looking building actually sits the place of Seattles Space Center
Getting back, I wonder if architects see this building and get mad. Mad because it broke all the rules!
Or, are there architects out there that rejoice the rule breaking? It seems that in this world of consistent change and fast moving, and everything being instant, Rules are Being Broken.
We have “rules” or perhaps suggestions in photography, but honestly, breaking them is more fun, and it seems to be the thing to do these days….
Creatively speaking that is ; )
Why did I make the switch from Etsy Selling platform to Smugmug? Well, first off Etsy seems to be all artsy and crafty and a seemingly reasonable way to get your product out to buyers but the hidden truth is that it is not much better than trying to sell on Facebook.
Etsy tends to support those that are highly involved in Etsy, they promote you if you have a billion product listings, is that fair? No. To have one listing may seem cheap at 20 cents, but what happens when someone buys it? well, you have to re-list it. Oh and they take a good 12% of the total value of the product including shipping charges. So in the end you have to over charge your customers, Who wants to do that in This Economy?? Not me.
So I moved to Smugmug, whoa the freedom, the flexibility, its a selling platform I have always wished for. So goodbye Etsy and Hello Smuggers!

“They say” that in composition it is a good idea to have your subject pointed out such as in leading lines or having elements in your environment point to your primary subject. Well that is precisely what I tried to do in this photo… By the way who are “They” anyway….
So take a look- the edge of the architectural building points to the needle, the trees at the top left point to the needle, the two shiny pillars point to the needle, even the trees in the background and the path of the sidewalk all point, and lead the eye to the needle… Accident? I think not.

Did you think that since its Now April, I was going to be ordinary and throw up a Nice Spring-like scene? Oh No way Jose… Yea, thats right I said it. I’m a sucker for the sunset, and oh, so is the rest of the world. So my interest and my visions are moving on it seems. I love Character Portraits and any photo with people. People are amazing, I think its God’s greatest achievements even though there is so much hate and destruction in the world. I think we are Brilliant Beings.. Anyway, I digress. I am going to start my venture into character portraits and studio style photography along with shooting for advertising if need be. I find works by Dave Hill to be truly Mesmerizing (davehill.com) as well as Dean Bradshaw (deanbradshaw.com.au) yea, hes even an Aussie so he automatically gets.. well .. two points in my book. And just general fashion stylized photography such as Jaime Ibarra’s work (his site is ibarraphoto.com) which always gets me green with envy. His style is so beautiful and can make the must natural looking thought provoking composites. Well anyway, this is my start and my shout out to say hey I’m exploring, and well, I’m an explorer, so Please Ride this Train with Me.
Hang on tight while we grab the next page
