Is Facebook Make Us The Dumberist?
I’m sure like all of you have seen when you go into a store, bank, coffee shop etc and glance at what people are doing on their phones or computers you’ll see the infamous Facebook Heading Logo at the top of their screen.  Now-a-days it has gotten to the point where I don’t think anything of it, other than that I think it’s funny how they are using company time to update and read useless status’ that seem to numb our minds from any challenging thought.  Perhaps they are just on a “mental break” or perhaps this is their hundredth mental break of the day and its only 10:30 A.M.  Regardless of the matter or reason they have the right to do what they want in their Own Time, but on company time? that’s just sad.
In case you fine folks are making fun of me or snickering at the fact that I used the word Dumberist in my title, it just makes me wonder.  If we spend (not all) but most of our extra time on things like facebook, in 20 to 30 years will we not be dumber than our ancestors 100 years ago that would dive into books and libraries?  Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m no book worm but I find it useful to find something I’m interested in and attack it.  Get to know every little thing about it until one day I either A: get sick of it or B: know enough about it to be decent or good at whatever it is I’m learning or C: just be content with the information I have on it and go on to the next thing.
Facebook is useful- but is it popularity to have 1,200 friends yet Always be Alone? is it “Funny” to post a status update that you’re drinking Mountain Dew and it almost spilled on your cat?  or is it even “Cool” to update your friends that you stayed up late playing Call of Duty so your calling into work to sleep in?  (then most likely get fired since employers are now checking these things periodically).  Yea, I guess it is funny and I guess it is cool in some sense I just think its getting way out of hand and its making us Dumb.  I just saw an advertisement that there is now a phone that actually has a Facebook Button on the keyboard for quick access to it.  The Line has Been Drawn My Friends.  Let’s hope it doesn’t go any further than that.
Have fun and See Ya on Facebook!
What About the Photo
Oh right! the photo! well isn’t that a fancy baby sunflower? I thought so, I loved it and even printed it out myself.  But the sky is what really blows my mind.  Showing the delicateness of the flower and then the robust sky and the huge but in the pic tiny tree in the background.  Awe peaceful serenity.  This was done on an evening in September that got me so excited to come home and play around with the processing.  I must say myself it turned out pretty good. High-res
